Neill Blomkamp

"District 9" is easily one of the best movie we've seen in recent years, its really that GOOD.

We recommend you not to watch the trailer and just buy the tickets, cos the less u know the more you'll enjoy the movie, its that GOOD. All we can reveal is, its a Sci-fi genre with aliens.

But if you insist,

And also take a look at this short awesome live action sequence of the game HALO, directed by Neill Blokamp too!

Oh, did we mention that District 9 is that good?

What's in the box?

Apparently, "what's in the box" showed up in youtube about 2 months ago and has already created a huge hype over the internet. Made by Dutch students Tim Smit and Thibaut Niels, it was kinda unbelievable with what they made within 150 euros.

Another clever move i'll like to point out is the "mystery" factor/hype surrounding this "test" film. You JUST have to watch it first.

Now for the best part of this viral video, check out their official website http://www.whatsinthebox.nl/
I have yet solved the puzzle for the lower part of the circle, but i did found another video clip which is very interesting to watch too, http://babel-research.eu/witb/stream/footage.html

Yes yes, I know everything felt like cloverfield or something you've already seen it somewhere, but the whole concept and the hype around it is too huge for me to give it a miss. People around the world are discussing about it, making assumptions that it has something to do with the game "Half Life" and "Lost". And the best news is that the creator has already received inquiries from Hollywood, including Twentieth Century Fox. Google "what's in the box" and you'll know what i mean.

It's great fun to find clues and easters linking here and there to unravel the truth about the box, but i'm just too lazy to decipher them. So, for those who are as lazy as me, check (Spoiler) http://wikibruce.com/2009/04/a-big-box-of-babel-research/ and you'll find out all the easters and content about the viral.

Spider, by Nash Edgerton

Notes:

Spider is a 9-minute action-thriller that gives an all-new meaning to old Peugeots, stunning blondes and love-jokes. The movie, written by Nash Edgerton and David Michod and soundtracked for the occasion by Australian singer-songwriter Ben Lee, was shot on location in Sydney and features in the cast Nash himself (as Jack) and rising star of the Australian film scene Mirrah Foulkes (as Jill).
Just remember: it’s all fun and games until someone loses an eye.

Horror short film!

Horror genres tend to attract more audience especially asians, like us! And by horror, we don't mean cheap thrills, crappy storyline or bland lazy special FXs.
We want to feel connected, feel the chill running down the spine and most importantly, to believe.
It has been years since any horror movie is able to make us look away from TV reflections, staying away from non-labeled VHS tapes or even avoid taking the lift alone...
Hopefully, in the near future 21k can produce an unforgettable horror flick that will make you soil ur pants. :)

David OReilly's animations.

David O'Reilly is a film director and artist based in Berlin, Germany.
He is known for creating animated short films with a stripped down aesthetic. His style has been described by blogger Xeni Jardin as "somewhere between Kubrick, Kaufman and Ketamine."

All in all, he's damn good.

Winner of the Golden Bear for best short film at the 2009 Berlinale.
